First Drone Film Festival

Drones are quickly gaining more respect in the moviemaking world as filmmakers around the world are taking their cameras to new heights, quite literally. The world’s very first Drone Film Festival will be taking place in New York City this Saturday March 7, 2015 at 6:30 pm at the The Directors Guild of America Theater. The event’s headline sponsor is NBC news.
The festival’s founder, Randy Scott Slavin, started the festival to simply celebrate the art of drone movie-making and take a step away from the constant concern about FAA regulations that are stirred up for so many of us when we hear the word “drone.”
We wish the best of luck to all contestants and hope this is the beginning of many more celebrations to come for the art of aerial cinematography.
